Chelsea - What's the Problem?

I'm a loyal Chelsea fan, I've been a fan since i was 8 years old so you can imagine the pain i often went through lol. When Roman Abramovich took over and we won the Premier League twice and the FA Cup's, Carling Cup's soon followed, I was a very happy man.

One of the greatest moments was when we beat Bayern Munich on penalties to lift the Champions League, 4 years after losing on penalties to Manchester United.

When we go knocked out by Juventus the following season, i was soo gutted, words couldn't express how i felt but nevertheless i still believed and in the same season, we won the Europa League. This meant we had made history - the first team to hold both European Trophies at the same time.

This Summer, the 'special one' returned home. Jose Mourinho was back at the bridge, hopes and spirits were high but Mourinho has now called himself the 'happy one'

Mourinho has inherited a talented squad with the likes of Mata, Oscar, Hazard, Willian, Schurrle, Lampard, Terry, Luiz, Cole, Ivanovic, Ramires all hoping to impress. It started quite well but there has been two major points - Scoring Goals and Killing Teams Off

I love it when we win a game but my disbelief is when our strikers perform badly, its been a recurring thing since Drogba left. Torres, Ba and now Eto'o have failed but Torres is starting to show signs of a ressurection but right now it's a hit and miss situation. Come January, i expect us to sign a world-class finisher.

The Other point is that we are failing to kill teams off when we take the lead. We've seen it on soo many occasions - Hull, Crystal Palace, Sunderland. We seem to lack that extra quality, someone who can open up the opposition and a striker to finish those opportunities. Another thing is that we seem to be more conservative in our play.

Mourinho is Mourinho, he knows how to win and i have belief that with the quality at his disposal he will get us firing on all cylinders. The likes of Cech, Terry, Lampard will retire soon so now we have to start thinking about replacements

Given the chance, here is how i'd like our team to line up
Courtois/Cech - Azpi/Ivanovic, Cahill, Terry, Cole - Mikel, Oscar, Ramires - Hazard, Mata - Schurrle

There's no reason why Schurrle cant play up front with Hazard, Mata and Oscar roaming behind him but still Mourinho persists with Eto'o, Ba and Torres, how long for? - not very long if you ask me.

Soo, i reckon by next season we will be Premier League Champions. This season is a transition season for us and even Mourinho has admitted it. Drogba, Robben, Duff, Makelele etc have gone so its now time for our current stars to step up and make themselves heard.

Win, Lose or Draw - I'll always support the Blues
