What a Day
Hey guys, so as you know, I'm a sports writer and have plans to one day rival the likes of Sky Sports, BBC Sport, ITV Sport and BT Sport.
Yesterday, i had the chance of attending a conference, at the home of English Football - Wembley Stadium; which was organized by Kick It Out and the theme for the conference was Raise Your Game #RYG
I didn't know what to expect at first but i was impressed at what i experience. Clarke Carlisle opened the show who was then followed by Caroline Barker. We were then treated to a poem by Musa Okwonga which entitled - This Is Football. It took me back to my first experience of Stewarding, my very first shift and not knowing what to expect.
We were then split up and i attended a media workshop presented by Clive Tyldseley. Just to be in the same room as Clive was mind blowing, learnt a lot from what he had to say. One of the things i learnt was - Know Your Audience, Communication is Key and Your Choice of Words is very important.
I then attended a Coaching Workshop with Tony Taylor, who coaches at Burton Albion.I picked up some valuable information which will no doubt help me with my career
After Lunch i then had a few one to one sessions with Caroline Barker, Jess Creighton, Samantha Johnson, Musa Okwonga and also had a brief chat with Leon Mann. They were all welcoming and gave me some precious and invaluable advice. They all gave me their contact details, i was amazed. Just to Spend time with them was awesome
After the day was over, i then had a chance to talk with Dharmesh Sheth, the Sky Sports News Presenter. I asked him about Transfer Deadline Day, how much work went into it and whether all what we see is true.
We then had a chat about that famous 'Odemwingie' situation.
I also met the guys behind Football Manager which was quite pleasing. I was also offered the opportunity to do some work with them during the summer.
As i was going home, one thing which kept on replaying back to me was this - 'Don't Wait for An Opportunity, Go and Seek It'
It won't come to you, you have to go and seek it
Another piece of advice which was given to me was - "Do Something, no matter how big or small it is, Start Somewhere"
That gave me so much joy and reassurance.
At the end of it all, i reflected and thought to myself 'What A Day'

Everything happens for a reason
Ever get the feeling that it just wasn't meant to be?
I get that feeling sometimes, you work soo hard or you have waited so long for something to happen and it falls through at the last minute? There can only be one explanation - It happened for a reason?
Im a believer in God and i believe that he is the centre of everything. Everything we do must be in line according to his word.
There are times, i've felt down and asked God why it didn't happen. He would ask me - Are You Ready?, Can You Handle the next move? Is it really what you want to do?
I then always think, maybe its for a reason. Whenever i take time out, i go to Ecclesiastes 3
To every thing there is a season, and a time to every purpose under the heaven:
A time to be born, and a time to die; a time to plant, and a time to pluck up that which is planted;
A time to kill, and a time to heal; a time to break down, and a time to build up;
A time to weep, and a time to laugh; a time to mourn, and a time to dance;
A time to cast away stones, and a time to gather stones together; a time to embrace, and a time to refrain from embracing;
A time to get, and a time to lose; a time to keep, and a time to cast away;
A time to rend, and a time to sew; a time to keep silence, and a time to speak;
A time to love, and a time to hate; a time of war, and a time of peace.
This reassures me soo much, just to know there is a time for everything, it helps me realise that there's a pre-destined time for everything.
Don't get weary or tired, don't feel weak. It will happen at the right time

'Don't Worry, i'll take care of it'
Over these past few months ive been attending Salem International Christian Centre and in that time i have prayed for certain things and they have come to pass.
At that time i was quite worried about these particular situations but i poured my heart out and through it all i kept on hearing 'Don't Worry, i'll take care of it'
I felt reassured to hear that, for someone to take care of my problems so i can focus on the future. That Someone is God.
God is always there, he wants to hear what you have to say.
Whatever your facing, please don't feel like no-one is listening, pour your heart out and he will hear you.
Last week was my birthday week and last Friday i attended a meeting and a particular scripture was mentioned. it so happened to be Luke 2 v 49 - 'Did you not know that i must be about my father's business'
Out of that, i began to realise that if i focus on God and forget all my fears etc he will in turn focus on me and my problems. I have now learnt to give all my problems to God and focus on him and what he wants me to do. It really ministered me to that day and i hope it ministers to you
So i just want to tell you, whatever you are facing, Don't worry, pour your heart out because God will take care of it.
Stay Blessed

Commitment
Hey Guys, hope everyone has a good start to 2014. Its April already and yes i recently celebrated my birthday.On that day, i was reading a book called Wired For Success and i read about the Force Of Commitment, so what i wanted to talk about was Commitment.
Are we really committed in what we do? When we say things, do we really carry it out and deliver the finished article or do we say stuff and not act on it? What type of person are you?
Whenever someone sees the level of your commitment, your stock levels rise, they know can rely on you because you always get the job done, no matter how long it takes.
